Hmmm... I was just thinking about that. I like rituals, but I also LOVE change, so nothing is really ever the same in my life. Reading my fave blogs has become a beautiful new ritual. Hope you are doing well, dear Lorrie! Love, Silke
i've been thinking about rituals as well. i've been away from my beloved home for a week, and was missing all of my little routines that have become such a part of my life. i love: 1. walking on the river trail every single morning. i wake before dawn, stumble around and feed walter, then dress and get in the car for a 15 minute drive to smoky mountain national park. we walk 3 miles, through woods and along the river, as the day slowly brightens. 2. fixing a frozen banana smoothie when we get back, and having it while i check email and blogs. 3. working on jewelry every day 4. Fresh Air at 3pm, All Things Considered at 4, with a cup of tea 5. throwing the ring toss with walter at the end of the day, before the light of afternoon fades 6. crawling into bed with a book before lights out
Love this post!!! Ummm....let's see....early morning walks with Luke the lab.....my soon to be hubby nibbles on my ring whenever I place it on his lips.....when we go apple picking, he still continues to lift my son up into the trees to get the good ones (not sure how much longer that will last!)....Thursday night watching Project Runway with my friend Barbara, and always having wine and a dessert. There are more, I'm sure that I'm not thinking of....have a great day!!!
Life has been crazy busy here and I have missed my every day rituals. My favorite daily rituals have been visiting the hens in the morning...treating them with yogurt and raspberries. Sitting out in the morning sun with my cat sipping my daily herb tea from Red Mango.
Thank you Lorrie for reminding me of sweet simple pleasures of the day! I bet you looked beautiful in that black dress!
It's the little things in life that give us so much pleasure and keep us grounded- a hot shower, family meals, collage & write in journal, a neighborhood walk and a good book with maybe a late afternoon nap. Thanks, Lorrie, for sharing with us.
I live in the Calif. east bay area with my 2 dogs Lily and Penny and and My husband Bruce. When "playing" I journal, do mixed media art and spend weekends on our Airstream "Bambi .
Reading each time you post?
