Tolerance

There is much going on in my household during the next few weeks. On Tuesday I leave for Scottsdale-a 12 hour drive. My husband and the dog Penny are going because we are going to be there for 2 weeks helping my mother. She is having major back surgery and will need someone with her to help with her recovery. It will be nice to be away from work, but I wish it was under different circumstances. My mother is a frisky 74 year old lady. She is basically healthy, but has some underlying issues that make taking care of her difficult. It is basically that she is the MOTHER and I am the DAUGHTER. No matter what the age that never changes. Wish us both luck, I'll keep you posted.

  2. Oh, I'm sorry to hear this. Since I work in the field of spine surgery, I can only imagine what your mom will be going through. Glad you are able to take a couple weeks off to be with her. Sending good thoughts and well wishes.

  8. I am so glad to hear the cause of your earlier mysterious post. "What ifs" don't fit into the equation in any way, for you are doing what is in your heart, which is the honorable thing to do and the thing that will make your life most meaningful in your twilight years as you look back over your life's decisions. Always follow your heart, and your soul will reward you. You are an inspiration with a beautiful spirit. Fare thee well.

  10. i hear ya. same with my mom and me... tolerance is a good word for both sides of the equation, i guess! hoping all goes well for her surgery and that her recovery is swift! (i always think the presence of a sweet dog makes any recovery swifter)

  11. Good luck in caring for your mother! I hope her health will improve quickly. I think, regardless of the age of daughters, mothers always tend to consider themselves a little bit more experienced.
