Once in the dream of a night I stood
Lone in the light of a magical wood
Soul-deep in visions that poppy like spray.
And spirits of TRUTH were the birds that sang,
And spirits of LOVE were the stars that glowed,
And spirits of PEACE were the streams that flowed,
In that magical wood in the land of sleep. anonymous
Soul-deep in spirits. What a wonderful state to be in. I choose to stay there, in sleep and in wakefulness. Hope you are at peace. XO
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this - it is wonderful...
ReplyDeleteI feel that way about nature, too. Somehow I feel closer to God there. Have you ever read Emily Dickinson's poem, "A Service of Song?" Your post reminded me of it:
ReplyDeleteSome keep the Sabbath going to church;
I keep it staying at home,
With a bobolink for a chorister,
And an orchard for a dome.
Some keep the Sabbath in surplice;
I just wear my wings,
And instead of tolling the bell for church,
Our little sexton sings.
God preaches, - a noted clergyman, -
And the sermon is never long;
So instead of getting to heaven at last,
I'm going all along!
- Emily Dickinson
