Hibernation

Like the weather I'm in hibernation. My mind is quiet and mushy. All I do is curl up under a blanket count sheep, pet my dog, mindlessly wonder the number of rings in a tree trunk, try to find the needle in a haystack-mindless activity. This is the season of gratitude, of family, and of giving. My heart is full of gratitude for so much and I live that every day. It is like a prayer for me a thank you for what I have. When one fills up with what you have it is easier to live with what is missing in your life. No life is perfect. My quiet time is reflection, simple rest for the busy active times that are ahead for me. May you all find time for quiet and peace this busy season.

  2. I am in hibernation too but this year, it means something different for me. It means battening down my hatches and involving myself fully in my art and writing. Rather than the usual dread and depression the dark nights used to bring, this year I welcome them so that I can become a hive of activity. Our hibernations may be different but I think they both have their appeal! Enjoy your quiet time. penny x

  3. I've been doing a little bit of both... some hibernation and some socializing. I like the perfect mixture of both. Happy holidays to you!

  5. I hope you are OK and that you are just spending some quiet time and reflection. Thinking of the things that I HAVE when I was faced with disappointment & loss this time last year, helped me through. Wishing you peace my friend.

  6. Such moments are necessary to all of us. When a pause comes, we appreciate our life all the more.

  7. May you find all the restoration you need during this quiet time for you. I think curling up under a blanket with a furry friend to pet is very restorative :)

  8. Dear Lorrie,
I always think of it as filling up the cup; so there is some more to pass around later!

  9. "Listen to the Warm" comes to mind...as does listening to snowfall. It's restorative, it is healthy, it is healing and it is soul soothing. What could be wrong with that?

  10. Well I hope I do find the time for some peace and quiet this busy season, but I'm not particularly hopeful! But I know what you mean about hibernation ... It gets dark so early here, and once that happens the curtains are closed and the fire is lit...... Love your thought provoking blog posts :-)
