My book

Spending 3 days with the same instructor, in the same classroom that is open 24 hours a day is great. It is nice to be able to stay put, not to rush around and know that you have the time to start, come back to and possibly finish a project. DJ Pettitt is a wonderful instructor, she would give a demonstration at the front of the class and then spend time going from table to table answering individual questions. I was one who had many. She also checked back in after hours to see how people were doing. The book cover was created using a photograph that was applied to water color paper. Paint and gel medium was used to create "painted" look. The water color paper also took on a leathery feel with the many layers of gel medium that were used, fortunately the weather was warm and things dried quickly. The binding technique is easy and one that I will remember and use again. Lynn was my table mate putting up with my moans and groans as I learned the book making process. She lives near by and we hope to get together to continue with what we learned.

  10. Love the colours of your book! & the binding is fabulous. It sounds like a great class - it has some of what I love about the retreat I just went on - you set up your supplies and you work straight through - no need to move stuff around every day.
