Doubt

Another low census day at work and I was called off my shift. Part of me rejoices because I get a long week end and another part of me trembles in fear as I doubt the security of my job. Three years ago I left a large busy stressful job to work a less stressful job. Sometimes I doubt my choice. I think about just doing a good job and doing the best I can and knowing that if I take care of every day the future will take care of itself-that is what nature does why can it not work for me? I don't want my dreams eaten for dinner.
A CHICK HAS JUST SO MUCH TIME TO CHIP ITS WAY OUT, JUST SO MUCH EGG ENERGY TO APPLY TO THE WEAKEST SPOT OR WHATEVER SPOT IT STARTED AT. IT CAN'T AFFORD DOUBT. WHO CAN? DOUBT USES ALBUMEN AT TWICE THE RATE OF WORK. ONE BACKWARD LOOK BY ANY OF US CAN COST WHAT IT COST ORPHEUS. NEITHER MAY YOU ANSWER THE STRANGER'S KNOCK; YOU KNOW IT IS THE PERSON FROM PORLOCK WHO EATS DREAMS FOR DINNER HIS NAPKIN STAINED THE MOST DELICATE COLORS. kay ryan

  1. Oh, yes, doubt! I know it well! We are on intimate terms and I wish we had never met!! I am an optimist by nature, which is a good thing and allows me to keep looking forward and trust that all is well. You are doing very well and I think your motto of taking care of every day is a good one! I hope your weekend will be filled with little miracles!! Love, Silke

  2. reminds me of the verse in matthew,"who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?...therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

easier said than done though, eh?

p.s. i went over to read about your beautiful lily and left a comment there, too...

  3. Don't doubt your choice - you had a reason for it. Just do the best you can - worrying about tomorrow will spoil your enjoyment of today.
    Wishing you a wonderful weekend...

  4. It's all in God's perfect plan...besides, it's a done deal. Movement/change is inevitable. Embrace it and look forward to tomorrow with what God has in store for you. If not, what is the alternative?
Happy thoughts being sent your way.

  5. I agree with stregata about never doubting your choice to leave your previous job. You are where you're supposed to be. I share your uneasiness in these times over job security though. Day by day I say! Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday. Happy Mother's Day to you.
    Hugs,
    Holly

  6. Doubts bring bitter taste in our life. I am more comfortable without this thought - worrying about tomorrow. Tomorrow is always unpredictable, isn't it?

  12. Hi Lorrie...I hear ya, loud and clear! Removing some stress from your life is a good thing, not a bad decision. Try to enjoy your "free day" and remember in this field there are so many ups and downs, and probably by the time you are reading this, you are busy again, and wishing for another day off!
    Hugs to you...
