Changes

Red berries, cool nights, golden leaves a tale of fall. It is my favorite time of year. The crisp air, the low hanging sun, the rustle of leaves. In California at least where I live it is not a bold colored fall, but it is a season just the same. One knows that change is in the air. Change with the seasons is acceptable and welcome in my life, but I resist change that comes to me otherwise. It was spending part of the day with my best friend-"brewing hope" (as I read on ornamental). I realized that I did not need to be afraid of change that I could see doors opening instead of closing, a glass half full instead of empty-that my life is good. I hope you all have a good week-end enjoying the fall weather.

  1. I saw your post on Ornamental and realized that you must be going through some stuff right now. And here I read that you are it seems. Change is hard, isn't it! I am like you: I don't like to accept things so easily and would rather everything be in my control. But that can't be. I can control nothing. So better to just do as you and brew some hope. You did the right thing in talking with your friend. Good medicine.

  2. I love to read how your perspective of things has changed since I first 'met' you in the blogosphere. Brewing hope is a good thing to do. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

  3. I love that phrase 'brewing hope'. It is all too easy to do the opposite which I find myself doing on some days. So much better to realise that things are ok really. I am glad your Mum is settled now and that you are back home ok.

  5. Change is always difficult even when it's positive. Brewing hope is such a lovely phrase to use to describe the acceptance of what is to come with an openness which enables the good to emerge out of difficulty. I raise my cup to you. penny x

  6. Change is a funny thing, isn't it? Generally I love change, always have, but I still resist it at first. I think it's just the fear of the unknown that carries with it the risk that this change might not be good. But then it often is way better than I had even imagined... Your are such an inspiration to me!! Hugs, Silke

P.S. I hope your mom continues to improve..

  7. My favorite time of year too! I just love the idea of it getting dark at 4:30 and putting on my PJ's soon after and staying in nice and cozy for the night. Hope you're having a lovely October weekend.
    Hugs,
    Holly

  8. I also love this season. Just as I love the other seasons. If you try to see and notice them, there appears to be a meaning and charm in the change of seasons.

  9. Ooh I'm loving your phrase 'brewing hope' - I must remember that one! Fall is well and truly here in the UK - I had to scrape ice off my windscreen this morning.
