Renewal

Every 2 years I have to renew a certificate in order to keep working. It always makes me nervous because I have to memorize charts, numbers, and lists and repeat them out loud back to people. I do ok on written test but do not do to well in live situations. So this week I am studying and studying and studying some more. Every time I put the books down I feel guilty and afraid so I pick them back up until I am just staring at the pages. My brain is mush. I did take a break and took a walk and these are some of the images that I captured. It is amazing to me how easy it is for me to remember colors, or shapes, the feel of the wind but yet I have such a difficult time remembering technical things. Don't come to me if you have a pulseless heart!!!!!

  3. Sometimes coming back refreshed to a difficult task is the very best gift you can possibly give yourself. My head fills up if I don't take a break and then NOTHING will go in. Good luck with the test x

  5. I wonder, how many times have you done this test? And so far, you have always done so successfully - because you are working.
So, relax a little. Study and then take a break. In your heart, you know you can do it.

  10. You will do fine... When I was in college and had to take lab tests in mineralogy, we had to memorize the mineral formulas and identify them by site... I always sat beneath a tree on campus prior to the test and it calmed my brain... and heart.. just relax.

  11. Hello again!

Thanks for your comment and question on my last blog post. To answer your question: First I applied modeling past (aka "molding paste") to the canvas with a palette knife. Then I rubbed on and rubbed off many layers of acrylic with a piece of muslin (while wearing gloves). I love how different colors are caught in all the nooks and crannies.

    Hugs,
    xo
