Creating Memories

Spoiled rotten, thats what I was this Christmas. Part of my gift was a day at the spa, my mother and I went and had massages on Christmas eve, it was a delightful way to spend the day. A beautiful hand dyed scarf from Lorri Scott of Wayward Threads was a complete surprise and one that I adore, I love her work. My husband gave me a little POGO printer that will be so much fun to have, I'll be able to use it at the trailer, it takes tiny little 2x3 polaroid prints and works off a battery. Along with the wonderful gifts I got was the gift of memories, new memories and old. Having dinner with my aunt, she had cooked a meal in the tradition of my grandmother and it brought back memories of Christmas past. Childhood memories of Christmas eve spent at my grandmothers with aunts, uncles, cousins, in a crowded tiny house, tables overflowing, presents everywhere, laughter and noise. At times a little overwhelming for a protected shy little girl but I loved every minute of it. It is good to remember the memories of the past and I treasure them greatly. I hope you all created some good memories this holiday season.

  2. Oh, I am so glad that your Christmas was filled with wonderful things and old and new memories. Christmas is such a time of remembering the past and over the years I've made it a point to only think about the good stuff. We loved our days, which were comfy and cozy... Love, Silke

  3. Love the family memories! I was making some cream fudge my mom used to call "blonde fudge" I didn't think it was turning out and it made me upset thinking I ruined it. Then my husband took over the spoon and started stirring it rapidly and it started to harden up more and it was fine. Guess I just needed a little more muscle. We had some fun over that one, Mom would have loved it. :-)

  6. I'm so happy to read that you had a nice Christmas. Getting spoiled rotten can be a great thing!! Gald it was you. You deserve it!

I have such fond Christmas memories too. This year my mom asked us all to talk about our favorite memories. We all had different ones of special times or receiving something that we really wanted. But it was really all about family and being together.

Happy new year to you! I'm so very glad to know you through this wonderful little blogworld that we are a part of.

    Hugs,
    Holly
