Art in the Park

No pictures this week of the farmers market. But I did go and get wonderful tomatoes to make a greek salad for dinner sometime this week. Earlier this week I had a discussion with my husband that we needed to start having some "fun" time. Setting aside time for us, trying a new adventure, no dogs just the two of us. He agreed and in getting into the spirit of it discovered a little art in the park that was going on at a local park. We walked to the park and wandered around the art displays, listened to the music, and shared an italian ice. I did not buy anything but had to settle for photographs, the artist were good about letting me take pictures. My favorite was of a lady who made beautiful lampwork beads and had this gorgeous necklace that I am sharing a photo of. Next week it is my turn to come up with an idea for the "date". I hope I do as good of a job as my husband did.

  1. Oh, what a fun idea - to go on a date! And to an art fest no less! I love the picture of the umbrella followed by the rainbow lampwork necklace. You take the best pictures!! Hugs, Silke

  2. Hi, I love the date in the park too..It's funny because my husband John and I just came back from our date. We took Buddy, our poodle for a ride to Pismo Beach, then went to Avila Beach and shared a shaved ice (just like you) and we were going to go up See Canyon. Today at Gopher Glen they have "burgundy" apples. But Buddy got too tired, so we came home and put him down for a nap..just like a baby.

We are "pretending" we are camping for a while. BBQing burgers tonight in the garden with corn on the cob and beans. Nothing fancy, just camp food....

    More later,

  3. My hubby and I need some dates too. That sounds so wonderful! What better place to stroll than a park full of art! (as they should be all the time, don't you think?)

There's a little award for you over on my blog. You don't need to post it or give it away if you don't do awards, but I wanted to send you a little gold star for your lovely blog.

  4. Oops! I meant to say, too, that I know you're away from the internet more now, so don't worry about getting to my blog anytime soon. I'll be there when you're up and running full speed. The award will always be there and you don't have to share it if you'd rather not. Plenty of my blog friends don't do awards and I totally understand - they're work too. So just think of it as that little gold star. (it's in a post dated Aug. 13 in case you don't get over for awhile)

  5. what a great idea...i am kidnapping my husband and we are going off to lunch in sonoma on saturday...shhhh...he doesn't know yet!

  6. Great idea - you need some fun together.
I'm in agreement with you on your favorite - I love the pic of the cool necklace.
