In two weeks on a Saturday I am going to attend an all day work shop with Katie Kendrick. She will attempt to teach me to paint, collage and draw a little bit. This workshop is offered through the Artful Journey down in the Los Gatos area. I know it is a beautiful area. And reading about it on the web site sounds wonderful. I am excited about going and exploring this because the Artful Journey has a fabulous teacher lineup for the year and would make going to other workshops a possibility. I'm also kind of nervous about it because paper and painting is not my thing and it is always nerve racking to step out of your comfort zone.

  1. You can do it, Lorrie! I am already looking forward to whatever you will be showing us afterwards - stepping out of the comfort zone expands your horizon and will get you excited!! Have fun!!

  7. You'll like Katie. She's a wonderful teacher, gentle and encourages play and self expression in whatever form it takes. I've signed up to take her Spontaneous Haiku workshop in Portland at Art & Soul in October. Enjoy!
