Martinez the little town I live in is full of antique stores and a couple of funky antique malls. As in most treasure hunts sometimes you have luck and sometimes you strike out. Today I had a lucky day. I was on the hunt for items to add to my poetry pieces.  My greatest find was an old hat with the neatest flower trim all over it that I plan to cut off and use in my pieces, the color is great. Also the old pens, I'm not sure what I'll do with them but they were to pretty to leave in the store. Laces are always a good find,  a girl can never have too much lace. My little town did me proud today and I was happy to call it home.

  1. Oh, wow, you did great! Makes me think I should check out some of our antique places. I am so not a shopper, which also means I miss out on some great finds like yours... Can't wait to see it all incorporated into your poetry art! Hugs, Silke

  3. Oh, you lucky duck! What treasures! I am looking forward to some antique shopping in the Midwest in a few days during vacation. Antiques in L.A. are overpriced and hard to find.

I don't have your email. I had spoken with your sister about making a piece of the two of you, she sent me pix, and I have them done - one original for each of you. They are on my blog though they are kind of small to see there. They are both about 8 x 10 in size. My email is marsha@tumblefishstudio.com if you want me to send you bigger copies so you can see. I already have your address so expect to get this in the mail next week! It's my little congratulations present for all you've been accomplishing lately!
