Come with me into the field of sunflowers. Their faces are burnished disks, their dry spines creak like ship masts, their green leaves, so heavy and many, fill all day with the sticky sugars of the sun. Come with me to visit the sunflowers, they are shy but want to be friends;----- Mary Oliver
Lily... what is it about sunflowers that brings the child out in us? I don't know but I sure do like it. I always stop and gaze at their beauty, their free spirits offering seed kisses to the birds, and squirrels... Thank you for the lovely lily pics~
Oh, Lorrie, these are wonderful photos and such a great poem! I was just looking at the heavy sunflowers in our yard and thinking that I need to take some pictures of them... Thanks for stopping by my blog - you are such a wonderful bloggy friend! Hugs, Silke
